How to use Redact PDF

Questions about Redact PDF

Is the hidden text really gone?

Yes. Every page that has a hidden area is saved again as an image with the box burned in, so the text underneath cannot be selected, copied or searched.

Will the other pages change?

No. Pages without hidden areas are copied exactly as they were, with selectable text.

Can it find text in a scanned PDF?

Search only works on PDFs that contain real text. For scanned pages, draw the boxes by hand.
