Questions about Video to Text

Which links work?

Links to public posts on X (Twitter) that contain a video, such as https://x.com/name/status/1234567890. Private, deleted and age-restricted posts cannot be opened. For other sites, download the video first and choose the file.

Does it work for Hindi?

Yes. Leave the language on automatic or choose Hindi, and pick “Better” accuracy for the best result. Hindi comes out in Devanagari. You can also choose “English” to get an English translation of a Hindi video.

Why does it take time the first time?

The speech model (about 77 MB for Fast, 249 MB for Better) downloads once and is then saved in your browser. After that, a 1-minute video usually takes 30–90 seconds on a laptop, depending on your device.

Is the text 100% correct?

No computer listening is perfect. Clear speech comes out very well; music, noise, several people talking together, names and numbers can come out wrong. You can fix the text on the page before downloading it.

Is my video uploaded?

A video file you choose is never uploaded — everything runs in your browser. For an X link, our server only fetches the public video from X and passes it to your browser; nothing is kept.
